I had the pleasure of doing photo sessions for 3 of my friends' little ones a few weeks ago during a get together. We all have babies within 3.5 months of age, so it was a lot of fun to hang out & spend time together with our precious growing babies! These sessions turned out pretty well, especially considering how last minute they were and that we did absolutely no pre-planning!! Picture 1 house with 4 mommas, 4 babies under 9 months, bottles, diapers, and a lot of props & stuff flying everywhere! As crazy as it was, it was so much fun & I love the way the pictures turned out too. I finally got them all edited & the discs are going out this week, so I am finally posting some of my session favorites!
Reed is one handsome little guy & sure has a genuinely adorable smile. He was almost 6 months old for this session & very photogenic as you can see here!
Lily has quite the personality for the little peanut she is! At almost 6 months old, she is such a strong little girl & has the most beautiful blue big eyes as you can see! She is going to be a beauty like her momma as she already loves everything girly, including: headbands, pearls, & tutus!!
Lyla has a smile that will melt anyone's heart! She is a little sweetheart with a big voice & she sure uses it to make all kinds of fun baby noises!! "Lyla Bean" as her momma calls her was almost 8 months old for this session!!
Here is a series of photos I captured of my son yesterday for the week 2 assignment of a small group I am doing, focusing on telling a story through photos. For those of you that do not know my son, he is now 9.5 months old. The reason this series of photos is so important right now is because in the last few weeks he has learned how to drink out of a straw, do "so big", & has started eating more "real food". It is so wonderful to be able to capture these special milestones & document them through photos! One of his favorite things to do while he is in his high chair is to play peek-a-boo with mommy underneath the high chair tray, which can also be seen here as well! The fourth picture may just be my favorite because every time I take Brantley out of his high chair, I can always find a few of those leftovers seen above. I have also caught Brantley digging them out & eating them now too, ha what a silly little boy he is!!

I always take monthly photos of Brantley with month stickers, but he is starting to be too smart & tries peeling them off every time. These photos were taken on 2 different days because he would not cooperate the first time I attempted them as you can see in the bottom left photo! Of course as a mother & aspiring photographer, I still had to capture this wonderfully precious moment!! On 3/26/13- at 9 months, Brantley is now crawling all over the place, cruising around the entire living room holding on to anything he can reach, and he still has an obsession with food/formula. In addition to giving kisses, waving hi, & giving high fives, he now does "so big", claps his hands, "super Brantley", and can pull himself to stand in his crib or anything else for that matter!! He also says: "ba-ba & baby" now too! He has done the sign for milk since about 5 or 6 months, but now does eat & more on occasion as well! His all time favorite things are watching hockey with daddy, cuddling with mommy, & of course eating ice cream treats with daddy!! He has the sweetest little personality & constantly loves social interaction! I still can't believe he is already 9 months old (now 9.5 months), where has this precious time gone...

So I am participating in a small group with some photographers I met doing some online classes. We are doing weekly challenges to build our photography skills. The first week we focused on taking self-portraits. Something I have NEVER done before! Not having a tripod or remote can make this task a bit challenging! I ended up using the 3rd photo, which portrays my everyday life as a photographer with a 9-month old baby. Even though I am holding the camera, I still used a self-timer to make it more challenging. I love how Brantley is looking up, watching me while holding my legs. This is pretty much his usual now that he stands all of the time and pulls himself up on EVERYTHING!! Now trying to get him to do this on command was the trickiest part! The other 3 photos are a few of the outtakes, but I thought I would share them as well, so you can see just how imperfect many photos end up being, but they can still be cute or fun in some way!!
